Although Dome Skylights are still the preferred skylight shape/design, there is a shift toward Pyramid Skylights. The latter are all-steel frames and glass. Depending upon client taste, skylight dimension and installation area configuration, various square and/or rectangular steel tubes can be used to build the frame, and the glazing is glass of tint choice – clear, bronze, arctic snow, grey, etc.

Glass can butt against each other or partitioned, the latter being preferred because of ease of replacement in case of one or few glass panel breakage.
